Repair of hydraulic cylinders

MACHINING PRODUCTION

Machining production is one of the key stages in the manufacture and repair of hydraulic cylinders at HydrotechCentre. We have a large production base equipped with modern metal-cutting machines: turning, milling, drilling, grinding, honing.
The condition of the machine tool fleet and tools is constantly maintained at a high level through regular inspections and preventive maintenance.
Technical capabilities
Thanks to modern equipment and the introduction of the latest technologies, we manufacture hydraulic cylinders with a rod (piston) diameter of 20 to 1000 mm and a stroke of 5 to 10,000 mm or more.
To achieve high quality internal cylinder surfaces, we use honing equipment that ensures a surface roughness of up to Ra 0.2 microns when machining holes with a diameter of up to 650 mm and a length of up to 8000 mm.
High-precision machining on CNC machines
Our arsenal includes universal computer numerical control (CNC) machines that allow us to produce parts of complex shapes and high precision.
Maximum dimensions of the parts processed on CNC machines: 2500 × 950 × 850 mm.

WELDING PRODUCTION

Welding is one of the most important stages in the production and repair of hydraulic cylinders.
Different types of welding are used at HydrotechCentre, depending on the design and dimensions of the parts:

– mechanised welding under shielding gas;
– automatic submerged arc welding;
– electroslag welding;
– manual longitudinal welding;
– argon arc welding with non-consumable electrode.
– The welding equipment allows for high-quality welding of medium-carbon and alloy steels, as well as welding of bronze parts.
– Internal stress relief after welding and other heat treatment operations are carried out in thermal furnaces. Given the specific operating conditions of hydraulic cylinder parts, each weld is subjected to non-destructive quality control methods. Welding quality is checked in independent certified laboratories.

ASSEMBLY AND TESTING

Before assembling the hydraulic cylinders, all parts are thoroughly cleaned with a special solution. This effectively removes any residual oil, dust and metal particles from the machining process. After a visual and inspection check, the components are sent to the assembly area.
Assembly of hydraulic cylinders
The assembly line assembles hydraulic cylinders in accordance with the technical requirements and design documentation. Particular attention is paid to assembly accuracy and tolerances, which ensures the products’ longevity and safe operation.

Testing and quality control
Each hydraulic cylinder is subject to mandatory testing in accordance with the company’s internal quality standards. The test programme includes:
– Three times rod movement without jamming
– Hydraulic pressure test at 50% higher than the operating pressure
– Checking for internal leaks of working fluid
– Visual inspection of seals and joints
Based on the test results, a test report is drawn up in accordance with the customer’s drawings and specifications.
Painting and packaging
After the tests, the products are transferred to the painting department. To protect against corrosion during transport and operation, the hydraulic cylinders are coated with a protective paint layer. The work is carried out using modern equipment that allows for both manual and automatic painting.
At the final stage, the products are preserved and packaged according to customer requirements. This ensures safe transportation and preservation of performance characteristics until installation.
